Compact, lightweight and easy to use, the EOS R50 combines a large 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, Canon's powerful DIGIC X processor and advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus in a portable EOS R System body.

Designed for photography, travel, family moments, social media and content creation, the EOS R50 automatically recognises and tracks people, animals and vehicles, helping photographers keep moving subjects sharply focused without needing to constantly adjust autofocus settings manually.

For video creators, the R50 records UHD 4K at up to 30p using oversampled 6K sensor data, producing more detailed 4K footage. It can also capture Full HD at up to 120p, allowing fast action to be slowed down by up to four times for dramatic slow-motion sequences.

Fast continuous shooting makes the camera equally capable when photographing children, pets, wildlife and sport. Canon specifies burst speeds of up to 12fps using its high-speed shutter mode and up to 15fps with the electronic shutter.

The included RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM is a compact everyday zoom designed specifically for APS-C EOS R System cameras. Its 18-45mm range provides an approximately 29-72mm full-frame-equivalent field of view, making it useful for landscapes, travel, street photography, family groups, portraits and video. The lens incorporates 4-stop optical Image Stabilisation and a quiet STM focusing motor.

At only around 376g including battery and memory card, the EOS R50 body is easy to carry, while the RF-S 18-45mm lens weighs just 130g and retracts to approximately 44.3mm long for storage.
