Overview

Place bombs, outsmart your rivals and fight to become Bomber One in SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2 for PlayStation 5. Konami's explosive party-action sequel combines the classic maze-based Bomberman formula with the largest collection of gameplay content in the SUPER BOMBERMAN R series, including a new Story Mode, local multiplayer, worldwide online competition and multiple battle formats.

Classic Standard Mode returns alongside team-focused Grand Prix, the huge 64-player Battle 64, and the headline Castle Mode — an asymmetrical attack-versus-defence battle supporting up to 16 participants. One side protects treasure while the attackers attempt to break through traps and defensive structures before time runs out.

SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2 also introduces a Stage Editor, allowing players to construct custom Castle stages using blocks, terrain and defensive gimmicks, then share their creations online for other players to challenge.

For solo players, an expanded Story Mode reunites the eight Bomberman Brothers and introduces their mysterious new allies, the Ellons. Together they must stop the destructive Black Moon starship as it devastates planets throughout the galaxy.

Four Main Battle Modes

Castle

A new asymmetrical mode in which attackers and defenders have completely different objectives.

The defending side protects treasure chests and can use:

The attacking side must penetrate those defences and capture the treasure. Castle supports up to 16 participants.

Battle 64

Up to 64 players compete in a large-scale survival battle.

Grand Prix

Players split into two teams of up to three and compete under objective-based rules.

Basic Bomber: score by defeating opponents.

Crystals: collect more crystals than the opposing team.

Standard

The traditional Bomberman experience.

Place bombs, destroy blocks, collect power-ups and trap opponents within explosion paths. Multiple rounds determine the eventual winner.

Stage Editor

SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2 takes customisation further with its Stage Editor.

Players can create Castle battle arenas using:
