DJI RS 5 Camera Gimbal Stabilizer – Canon / Sony / Nikon / Fujifilm

Overview

Capture smoother, more professional footage with the DJI RS 5 Camera Gimbal Stabilizer, designed for mirrorless filmmakers, content creators and commercial videographers who need reliable stability without carrying an oversized rig.

With a tested payload of up to 3kg, DJI’s latest 5th-generation RS stabilisation algorithm and motors delivering significantly increased torque, the RS 5 is engineered to keep compatible camera and lens combinations steady while walking, running, tracking subjects or shooting vertically.

Fine-tuning knobs, automated axis locks, rapid charging and broad camera compatibility make the RS 5 a powerful choice for creators using systems from Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm and other supported manufacturers.

Key Features & Benefits

• Capture Smoother Footage While Moving – DJI’s 5th-generation RS Stabilisation Algorithm improves stability during walking, running and vertical shooting, helping footage look more controlled and professional without relying entirely on post-production stabilisation.
• Handle Mainstream Mirrorless Camera Setups with Confidence – A tested 3kg payload capacity gives the RS 5 enough strength for a wide range of compatible mirrorless bodies and lenses, making it practical for professional everyday shooting.
• Stay Stable During More Dynamic Camera Moves – DJI states peak motor torque is increased by 50% over the previous generation, giving the gimbal more authority when handling rapid movement or heavier supported setups.
• Balance Your Camera More Precisely – Dedicated fine-tuning knobs on each axis and Teflon-enhanced balancing surfaces make small adjustments smoother and easier, helping reduce setup time between camera and lens changes.
• Set Up and Pack Away Faster – 2nd-generation automated axis locks automatically engage when the gimbal is powered off or put to sleep, then unlock when powered back on, helping streamline transitions between shooting and transport.
• Shoot Vertical Content Without Extra Accessories – Native vertical shooting support lets you quickly adapt the gimbal for social media, reels and short-form video without having to build an entirely separate rig.
• Work Longer with Less Downtime – The standard BG33 battery grip provides up to approximately 14 hours of standby time, giving you enough capacity for long production days depending on movement and payload.
• Recharge Fully in Around One Hour – With a compatible 65W USB-C PD charger, the standard battery can reach a full charge in approximately 1 hour, helping minimise downtime between shoots.
• Improve Walking Technique with Z-Axis Feedback – A new Z-Axis Indicator gives visual feedback on vertical movement, helping operators fine-tune their footsteps and reduce unwanted bounce in handheld footage.
• Control Compatible Cameras Wirelessly – Bluetooth shutter functionality supports selected Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic and Fujifilm cameras, allowing compatible shutter, zoom and Clear Image Zoom functions to be controlled without additional cables.
• Track Subjects More Intelligently with Optional Accessories – The optional RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module can track people, vehicles and pets from the gimbal touchscreen, helping solo operators maintain composition more easily.
• Operate from Creative Low Angles More Easily – The optional Electronic Briefcase Handle adds joystick and button controls for both gimbal and camera functions, helping with low-angle and single-handed shooting.
• Expand Your Rig with Professional Accessory Ports – RSA/NATO mounting, 1/4"-20 mounting, cold shoe and USB-C control connections provide flexibility for monitors, handles, focus systems and other filmmaking accessories.
• Move Quickly Between Shooting Styles – With continuous 360° pan rotation and high controlled rotation speeds across all three axes, the RS 5 can adapt to slow cinematic moves as well as faster tracking shots.

Why Choose This Product?

The DJI RS 5 is designed for creators who want professional stabilisation without moving into a heavier cinema-rig setup.

Its 3kg payload gives it enough strength for many popular full-frame and APS-C mirrorless combinations, while its relatively portable design makes it practical for weddings, events, commercial shoots, travel filmmaking and social content.

The real benefit is workflow speed. Automated axis locks, fine adjustment controls, fast charging and Bluetooth camera control all reduce the friction that usually slows a gimbal operator down. Instead of spending valuable time rebalancing, reconnecting or waiting for batteries, you can focus more of the session on capturing usable footage.

For solo videographers and small production teams using Canon, Sony, Nikon or Fujifilm systems, the RS 5 offers a strong balance of stability, payload capacity, portability and intelligent shooting assistance.
