Overview
Rediscover the craft of photography with the Nikon FM3A Body in Silver, a highly respected 35mm film SLR built for photographers who value precision, control and timeless mechanical design. Combining classic manual operation with the convenience of aperture-priority auto exposure, the FM3A gives you the freedom to slow down, compose properly and create images with real character.
This is a camera for photographers who want more than a digital snapshot — it delivers the tactile, deliberate and rewarding experience of shooting film with one of Nikon’s most admired manual-focus bodies.
Key Features & Benefits
- True Film Photography with Professional ControlThe 35mm film format gives your images natural grain, authentic colour character and a creative look that digital filters cannot fully replicate. It is ideal for photographers who want a more intentional and expressive shooting process.
- Shoot Your Way with Manual or Aperture-Priority ExposureThe FM3A offers both manual exposure and aperture-priority auto exposure, so you can take full creative control or let the camera select the shutter speed while you focus on depth of field and composition.
- Reliable Hybrid Shutter for Confidence in the FieldNikon’s hybrid shutter system uses electronic control in aperture-priority mode and mechanical control in manual mode. This means the camera can still operate at manual shutter speeds even without battery power, giving extra confidence when travelling or shooting outdoors.
- Fast Shutter Speeds for Creative FlexibilityWith manual shutter speeds from Bulb and 1 second to 1/4000 sec, plus aperture-priority auto exposure from 8 seconds to 1/4000 sec, the FM3A gives you flexibility for portraits, street photography, landscapes and available-light shooting.
- Nikon F Mount Lens CompatibilityThe Nikon F mount opens access to a wide range of compatible Nikon manual-focus lenses, making it an excellent body for photographers who already own classic Nikkor glass or want to build a film system around proven optics.
- Accurate TTL Centre-Weighted MeteringThe built-in TTL centre-weighted metering system helps guide exposure decisions directly through the lens, making it easier to produce balanced results while still keeping the shooting experience hands-on.
- Bright Pentaprism Viewfinder for Composed ShootingThe eye-level pentaprism viewfinder with approximately 93% coverage and 0.83x magnification helps you frame confidently and focus manually with precision.
- Classic Silver Body with Collector AppealThe silver finish gives the FM3A a timeless, premium look that appeals to working film photographers, collectors and Nikon enthusiasts alike.
Why Choose This Product
The Nikon FM3A Silver Body is one of Nikon’s most desirable late-era film SLR cameras because it blends mechanical reliability with practical exposure automation. It is ideal for photographers who want the discipline and beauty of film without losing everyday usability. Whether used for street photography, travel, portraits or creative projects, the FM3A delivers a deeply satisfying shooting experience with a classic Nikon feel, making it as enjoyable to use as it is to own.
