Ion Fury: Double Shot Edition – Nintendo Switch Game

Overview

Lock, load and return to the uncompromising speed of classic 1990s shooters with Ion Fury: Double Shot Edition for Nintendo Switch. This expanded physical edition combines the complete Ion Fury base game with the Aftershock expansion, giving players the original campaign plus a substantial new adventure packed with additional levels, weapons, enemies and challenges.

Play as Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison, a bomb-disposal expert turned one-woman army when cybernetic mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes his forces across Neo D.C. Forget regenerating health and slow cover-based combat — Ion Fury is built around constant movement, secret hunting, powerful weapons and fast reactions.

Created using an extensively enhanced version of the legendary BUILD Engine, the technology behind classics such as Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior, Ion Fury recreates old-school FPS design while introducing modern touches including headshots, improved physics, interactive environments and seamless level transitions.

The included Aftershock expansion continues Shelly's fight against Heskel with a completely new 15-level campaign, additional enemies and weapons, a brutal Angel of Death difficulty, vehicle combat aboard the Rotorcycle and an Arrange Mode that reworks the original campaign with new areas and encounters.

The European Nintendo Switch Double Shot Edition was released on 19 March 2026, carries a PEGI 18 rating and is identified by EAN 5055957706982.

Why Choose This Product

Ion Fury: Double Shot Edition is designed for players who miss the speed and freedom of classic first-person shooters.

Rather than directing you through narrow scripted corridors, Ion Fury encourages exploration. Maps contain multiple routes, hidden rooms, secrets and large-scale combat spaces where the player decides how to approach each encounter.

Its weapon design follows the same philosophy. Revolvers, grenade launchers, smart bombs and alternate firing modes give you more to experiment with than simply switching between progressively stronger guns.

The Aftershock expansion makes Double Shot Edition particularly compelling. It adds another 15-level campaign but also goes further with new weapons, additional enemies, vehicle combat and Arrange Mode, effectively providing veteran players with reasons to return to the original maps.

For fans of Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior and other classic BUILD-engine-style shooters, Ion Fury deliberately captures the movement, level design and attitude of that generation while incorporating modern conveniences.
