Overview

Step back into the shadows with Styx: Blades of Greed for PlayStation 5, the third main adventure starring the foul-mouthed goblin master of stealth. Developed by Cyanide Studio and published by NACON, Blades of Greed builds on the stealth-focused gameplay of Master of Shadows and Shards of Darkness with larger environments, greater freedom of movement and powerful new Quartz abilities.

This time Styx is no longer simply taking orders. He leads his own crew aboard a zeppelin while hunting Quartz, an extremely valuable and dangerous resource in a world heading towards war between humans, elves and orcs. The story also explores events surrounding the beginning of the Great War and formation of the Black Hand mercenary group.

Every mission works like a stealth puzzle. Scout enemy positions, craft weapons and potions, distract guards, exploit vertical routes and decide whether to slip through unnoticed or quietly eliminate anyone standing between Styx and his objective. Familiar Cloning and Invisibility powers return through Amber, while Quartz introduces abilities including Mind Control and Time Shift.

Exploration has also been dramatically expanded. Traverse three large environments — The Wall, Turquoise Dawn and the ruins of Akenash — using Styx's claws, grappling hook and glider to climb walls, cross gaps and discover routes that less agile characters simply couldn't reach. New equipment progressively opens previously inaccessible areas, adding a Metroidvania-style element to exploration.
